Here I am finished with my first paint-job of 2011 in my new role as Job-Site Manager. It was my second summer painting with College Pro, which at the time was just a summer job to help me pay for school. By the end of this summer I was given the chance to apply for my own painting franchise, and before long I was the proud owner of the Victoria College Pro Franchise which I went on to run for the next two years!
I've always loved the outdoors. From camping with my grandparents as a kid, to multi-day mountain hikes, my fondest memories are of being outside. This picture is from a recent trip to Scotland with my family, which brings me to the next section, Travelling.
This picture was taken in Dubrovnik, Croatia, overlooking the old city from a fort up on a nearby peak. One of my favourite spots, partially because they filmed the King's Landing scenes from Game of Thrones here. I've also traveled through parts of Italy, England, Scotland, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand (as well as within Canada and parts of the US). While I've enjoyed all these places, my favourite place in the world is Tioman Island off the coast of Malaysia, where I volunteered for two months in a SCUBA marine conservation program when I was 18.
I'm actually still a teenager in this picture, just getting out of the water after a certification dive to get my PADI Open Water card. Not long after this picture was taken I flew to Malaysia where I was part of a conservation program called Blue Ventures, diving multiple times a day and eventually earning my Advanced and Rescue Diver certifications. When that program was over, I went to a dive school in Thailand and became a certified Dive Master. All told, I have about a dozen different certifications and over 200 logged dives!
This is me and my cat Tiberius. I've always lived with animals, growing up with a number of cats, two dogs (at different times), and at one point a turtle, creatively named Mr. Turtle. For a long time I wanted to be a veterinarian due to my love of animals, I even worked at a clinic for two years during high school as part of a co-op placement.
This is me at a tech demonstration I attended during my time studying Computer Science at Ryerson University. Technology has always interested me due to how it can solve old problems in new and interesting ways, like 3D printers for replacing missing puzzle pieces! I've also long been interested in programming and software development, with a focus in game development. I built my first video game - a Pacman clone - in a programming class when I was 12!
